The Dr. A.C. Wathey Cruise & Cargo Facilities also includes a cargo section, namely the Captain David Cargo Quay and Cargo South Quay. St. Maarten proudly serves as a trans-shipment hub for the Northeastern Caribbean and this is due to the islandís strategic location and ultra modern cargo facilities and the provision of efficient reliable services to stakeholders and customers.
Some of the major cargo lines servicing the island are Europe West Indies Lines, Bernuth, CAGEMA, CMA-CGM, Empresa De Navegasion, Oil Interline, Seaboard Marine Lines and Tropical Shipping.

The Capt. David Cargo Quay has a length of 270 meters (890 ft); a docking capacity for two general ìlift-on-lift-offî (LOLO) and three ìroll-on-roll-offî (RORO) cargo vessels. The water depth is 10.5 meters (35 ft).

The facility also includes a container storage area of over 2000 TEUs. Cargo vessels can also be provided with fuel and water services.
